What is MY WOrk about?
Meaningful, creative work on a team, helping women, those that love them, and those that they love overcome postpartum and perinatal mood disorders. My mission statement for 15 years has been βto be a contributing member of society: confident, competent, and compassionate; exuding a sincere respect for all life.β
I conduct private and couples counseling appointments for 50 minutes each. I treat a spectrum of problems including trauma, postpartum mood disorders, anxiety and depression, relationship dissolution, and general frustration and dysfunction in life. I have spent the last decade in mental health and am passionate about improving the quality of life for the women in my practice.
I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Montana. I have worked in wilderness settings as well as inpatient hospital based work and in residential treatment. I have owned a private practice since 2014. My passion as a survivor of a perinatal mood disorder is helping women transition to life after motherhood begins.
I am a mother, lover of yoga, rabid foodie, devoted gardener, sometime crossfitter, and general seeker of adventure. My approach to clients is warm, dedicated, empathic, and humor filled. My work is person centered and attachment based. I am a fan of Brene Brown, Harville Hendrix, and John and Julie Gottman. I am certified in Maternal Mental Health through PSI (postpartum support international) and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). I also use acceptance and commitment therapy in conjunction with MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) to treat anxiety and depression.
